Swimming in an outdoor pool is a holiday must for many of us… And because this is Britain, ours is heated! Unusually long for a campsite pool at 20m, it’s the perfect pool for both serious swimmers and those who like a refreshing dip, and there’s a shallow paddling area for little splashers. There are plenty of sun loungers on the poolside terrace where you can relax with a book – and the Stable Bar is just behind you…

There are two outdoor playgrounds at Polmanter: one for younger children, and another for older daredevils. The first one is a lovely space for littlies to explore, with a wooden camper van and tractor among other toddler-friendly delights. The second play area was completed in 2015, and includes a zip wire and funky stainless steel and wooden pods, to fire imaginations and burn off energy.

We have two all-weather tennis courts, which can be booked for a small charge. Don’t worry if you forget your racket, as these can be hired from Reception. With glorious rural views, this has to be one of the most stunning places around for a game of tennis.

Our new indoor play area is already a great hit with younger campers. Designed with a fun nautical theme, your little ones will have a wonderful time climbing, sliding, jumping and spinning while you enjoy a drink or a cuppa from the adjacent bar and restaurant. Your busy climbers will still need parental supervision, so we’ve made sure there are chairs and tables for you in the indoor play room. Perfect for rainy day entertainment.

We all have fond holiday memories of putting with our families! Relive these childhood moments or introduce your own kids to this much-loved holiday sport on our beautiful little putting green. Putters and balls are available at Reception for no charge.

The hangout of choice for older children, the games room is situated in the same block as the bar and restaurant, and is open until late every day during the season. There are two pool tables and a table tennis table. The games room has recently been refurbished to create a relaxed, contemporary space.

There’s a no ball games rule around the pitches – but it’s hard to resist a kickabout… Send any restless family members up to the large sports field near the campsite’s entrance. It’s a great spot for cricket, football (there are goalposts) and kite flying, and also to make friends with other visitors. Impromptu tournaments often start here on sunny evenings!

Of course, there’s nothing like unwinding on your own pitch, especially on a beautiful day. We can lend you bricks for your barbecue, or you can grab a delicious bite from our takeaway. There are toys and games for sale in the shop – and Polmanter has today’s main essential service, WiFi (500MB, free every 24 hours per person, per devise, suitable for basic browsing. Then there’s a charge for additional data).

During the summer season (mid July until the end of August), there’s often entertainment, kids’ parties, or quizzes held in the Stable Bar and Restaurant, with usually up to four events on every week.
